To be fair, 02/03 he was actually half decent. He actually gave Antonio Nogueira real troubles in the fight they had in Pride and Nogueira is one of the greatest MMA heavyweights of all time. The body just can’t support that much muscle without exhausting itself out, hence him being utterly spent within about 30 seconds!

TheStatistnr27 I been watching K1 and UFC since the 90’s. Of course Alistair is way better technical and all around fighter than sapp. Not comparable in that regard. Sapp is just a juice freak that’s out of breath and won and lost a lot by himself and some for the yakuza but comparable is that sapp and overeem both started very strong and big body with juice and lost heavily without juice compared to some other fighters. Only Juice free beast fighter is Mark Hunt.

I'll always remember Kimo as the guy who gave Royce Gracie all he could handle in one of the early UFC events, back when Gracie was basically invincible because no one knew how to counter BJJ yet. Gracie actually dropped out of the event after beating Kimo due to exhaustion.

I am pretty sure it was an ankle injury. Then, after Royce dropped out, Kimo came to the ring like a big goober acting like he beat Royce Gracie and should be allowed to enter the comp again. Almost like when he tried to claim victory in this fight prematurely. He is an excellent fighter for sure, but he thinks he deserves more than he does.
