As a boxing enthusiast I love Usyk's style in the heavyweight division. He shows us that you can be extremely skilled as a heavyweight with great footwork, angles, jab and boxing IQ. He is a breath of fresh air within the heavyweight division where we usually see sluggers and one dimensional heavyweights.

Usyk is indeed skillful , but he lacks the punching power of a true heavyweight . His smaller frame gives him more agility and it also gives him the edge in terms of stamina and endurance . If you dont knock him out then hell beat you on the scorecards !

Its not that usyk gets faster as the fight progresses, its just that his opponents by then are tired can't keep up, his angles now become clearer as he fights, ducks with a right hook,comes in with the same right, ducks with left uppercut, comes in with a left hook... he's just unique. The rhythm that Usyk is able to build is a superb thing to witness. The footwork, angles and mastery of distance, and the timing is almost impeccable. He's a superb technician and never, ever ducks a challenge. A true great.

Daniel Dubois should be the unified heavyweight champion. This.was an utter disgrace. It was all set up. Usyk wins a fight that should have been stopped when Dubois dropped him. They want the Fury fight that bad that Dubois was never gonna beat Usyk that night, his most realistic outcome would have been knocking Usyk stone cold & getting a majority draw with one judge scoring it for Usyk

Usyk is the people’s champ. He’s funny and entertaining as hell. Great technique and overall mindset that young fighters should strive to have in their tool bag. I truly believe he will outbox Tyson, his angles and timing are frustrating for anybody and nobody can seem to catch him good and clean enough to put him down

Guys just foward the video between minutes <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="663">11:03</a> to <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="665">11:05</a> and just watch what Usyk does in the slowmo. We can see the guy is on his way to falling yet Usyk still raises his left hand guard up to protect his chin even though the guy had very very little chance of hitting him from that falling position. It just goes to show how alert Usyk is at all times and takes no chances

Usyk had many amateur fights. He is disciplined, stays busy and has patience. He is solid. He waits for openings his opponent gives him and takes advantage of mistakes. You can't stand in front of guys like this. He doesn't have a great deal of power, but doesn't need it if he stays within his game. That said, a fight against Fury is going to be a challenge. Fury is not stationary, throws punches from many angles and obviously, can recoup if hurt. The best way to attack Usyk is with straight punches, while moving away from his jab. Usyk can be outpointed, but if Fury makes mistakes, Usyk could beat him.

One more thing about Usyk. He controls the distance between him and his opponent. He is a master at it. He rarely gets caught too close and when he does, he covers, exactly how you pointed out. he dictates the distance as well as a fighter can.

I really liked this bout. Most predictions did play out: Dubois is a very game young challenger but not quite ready for master boxers and the top top level. Usyk is is a master boxer still at the top of his game. Dubois did a great effort but Usyk was just that next level above.

Nobody likes to get hit. To be fair, it takes a lot of balls to enter the ring in the first place. Dubois took a lot of clean shots in this fight. But It takes a real champ to dig deep when in adverse circumstances and clearly Dubois fell short in that.

I think Daniel Dubois (or D Dub as he's known to his friends) had his tactics right for fighting a superior boxer. Usyk is very difficult to hit in the face and head because of all the movement, but Dubois was catching him with some good body shots and it was definitely bothering him. The low blow was a low blow in my book

I dont know much about Daniel. Just really heard of him from this fight and the Miller fight. He seems like a pretty positive guy. Why are people saying he quit in this fight? Funny, watching this I was just thinking "What happened to fast heavyweights?". Compared to videos from the 80's of Mike Tyson and others, these guys look like I'm watching the video at 0.5x speed. There's no fast heavyweight right now. They might hit fast once or twice but back in the day they were so fast you couldn't tell what KOd someone. In this fight, the guy just gave up and took a knee. That's not a KO, that's someone getting tired and quitting.

Usyk's head is way too hard to hit for these big heavyweights. The body is a far easier target. The problem is most of them don't go for it early enough because they're all so used to headhunting.

I was surprised that Dubois capitulated as he did. He was landing some great body shots but didn't follow them up. I think that he realized Usyk was too fast for him, but did he go out on his shield? No, he didn't.

Usyks movement is so beautiful to watch. Slowly breaking down his opponent over time. His punches never look that devastating when they land but he is able to drop them still. Deceiving power.

Usyk is a ‘one of a kind’ type of boxer! From the first time I watched this guy in the cruiser weight division, I knew he was special and have been following him since. What all the critics said, including some professional boxers, commentators etc about the illegal low blow…. I truly wish they watch the whole bout, as you can see Daniel throw quite a few of these blows and the referee only cautioned him once, I think! Daniel is young and muscle bound and is a heavy puncher but I’ve noticed that in his recent fights he really can’t take too many solid punches himself. Hopefully, he’s only young and he will toughen up and learn
